I paid extra to have more legroom and it is definitely worth it for a six hour flight. I would’ve paid for a decent dinner, but they didn’t offer anything but a snack box —not good for six hours. Our original business class flight was cancelled so we not only downgraded but we were also spread out across the plane not sitting together in separate middle seats. Then we didn't want to leave the gate to get food because we wouldn't know how much longer the delay would be. Had we been told that the total time would have been aprox 45 min later we would have left to get food and a beverage. We had to wait again for the okay to the pilot to take off so we were on the runway for another 20 min.

The food is so excellent, and this is an amazing restaurant to start with for my first trip back to Green Bay in 15 years. My dad and I ordered quite a bit so I'll go by section. My dad ordered a French Onion Soup to start and I started with their Bacon Wrapped Scallops. They are in this super rich creamy sauce and they were cooked perfectly.

The rash of recent restaurant closings has been sudden and sad, don’t get me wrong. Restaurants in cities across the country are facing the same business challenges. While we waited for the server to take our order for our main courses, I picked at my coagulated truffle mac and cheese, letting my eyes wander around the restaurant. The place was packed with young people whose fashion inspiration seemed to come directly from TikTok. Having worked in the restaurant industry, I assumed the staff were elevating their service because I told them I was a journalist.

The potatoes weren't pillowy soft as one would expect them to be, and the sheer volume of potato overpowered any flavor from the actual toppings. The nachos appeared first, and I can't say I didn't almost fill up on these. They were chips, cheese sauce, topped with more cheese, beans, jalapenos, pico de gallo, and sour cream. The priciest addition to the nachos wasn't the $2 guacamole; it was five extra dollars to add chicken, which was not worth the splurge; there was barely any and it didn't add anything to the dish. My two cousins and I arrived early for our Saturday evening reservation and waited to be seated.
I appreciate the umami flavor of any dish with truffle, but this mac and cheese wasn't memorable, and I could've done without it. It was good for two bites, but coagulated and lost all flavor when left for too many minutes. Experience a vibrant dining adventure at STK Steakhouse in Los Angeles. The servers encouraged me to order the steak, a dish I was told the restaurant is most known for. While I'm a diehard carnivore, I am always hesitant to have steak at a restaurant. A great steak is unbeatable, but they're incredibly easy to do wrong, in which case they're as inedible as a hockey puck. Indulge in their lively bar, karaoke bar, and sports bar, perfect for unwinding with friends.

They are matte, but not powdery 'dead' sort of matte, and feel neither drying or moisturising. For the perfect pout I'd still exfoliate and maybe line the lips. Here's what the colors look like applied from the bullet, no brush or lip liner. ‘Miranda May’, inspired by Miranda Kerr, is a sunny poppy coral, with a demi-matte finish (I consider it demi-matte because it still had a bit of shine to it). The formula was a bit difficult with this one – it was a thinner formula, that applied slightly patchy, and moved around on my lips when I swiped the product for an additional coat.
THE CLASSICCLASSIC BROWN
Charlotte Tilbury Secret Salma Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium rosy mauve with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque coverage that went on evenly and smoothly. The texture was thinner and clung, but it didn’t emphasize texture like some of the other shades have. It wore well for four hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. NARS London Clinic (LE, $27.00) is lighter (95% similar). Hourglass My One Desire (LE, $34.00) is lighter, glossier (95% similar).
THE BEAUTYVERSE PALETTELIMITED EDITION EYESHADOW PALETTE
ColourPop Afterglow (LE, $10.00) is brighter, cooler (80% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Kate (P, $30.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Pussycat (04) (P, $55.00) is lighter (80% similar). Lisa Eldridge Love of My Life (LE, $36.00) is less shimmery, darker, less pigmented (85% similar). Tarte Perf (LE, $20.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). NARS Haze (LE, $26.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar).

The texture is thin but smoth, and it does feel a little clingy, though it was neither drying nor hydrating on me. The coverage was mostly opaque, not quite what I’d say is buildable (it’s pretty pigmented right out of the gate; hard to sheer it out without becoming very uneven). Chanel Tentation (238) (LE, $45.00) is darker (95% similar). Dior Forever Cherie (525) (P, $45.00) is lighter (95% similar).
BEAUTIFUL SKIN RADIANT CONCEALER11.75 TAN
Tell Laura would level up any plain t-shirt and jeans kind of day to another level. It's chic and adventurous, ready to steal the thunder from any matte, dark red. It’s suggested to apply this over the CT Lip Cheat shade Pillow Talk (CT Lip liner). With the lip liner under it, the lipstick shade does not need to be built up and last for a couple of hours longer. Everyone who wants to try the lipsticks may not necessarily want to buy the lip liners as well.
The Kissing range is creamier, light-medium in weight, comfortable and hydrating, and average wearing (three to five hours with most shades). Both formulas have a sweet, vanilla scent with no discernible taste. Charlotte Tilbury Miranda May Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark pink-coral with warm undertones and a matte finish.

Tom Ford Beauty Jackie (LE, $36.00) is more shimmery, darker, cooler (90% similar). Sephora CEO (13) (P, $13.00) is cooler, glossier (85% similar). Create the illusion of fuller, wider lips with my Matte Revolution – for lips that look lit from within. It’s a trick I use all the time on photo shoots, using lighting trickery, pigments and powders, and have been working for years to re-create this effect in the slick of 1 lipstick. Now everyone can create this full, matte lip effect in a long-lasting, buildable, hydrating formula – it’s the matte lipstick of the future! Available in 10 modern-matte shades for all skin tones – 1 for each of my signature looks.

‘Kim K.W.’, inspired by Kim Kardashian-West, is a pale nude pink, with a cream finish. The formula was very creamy, but required a couple of swipes to really cover up and cancel out my natural lip colour. ‘Secret Salma’, inspired by Salma Hayek, is a natural deep-rose plum with a matte finish.
Amazing Grace is inspired by Grace Kelly, a vintage tea rose for pretty, polished perfection a la Nicole Kidman and Miranda Kerr. Tell Laura and Secret Salma are both Charlotte Tilbury's new matte formula - or as she says 'luminous modern-matte'. I laughed at this description, but after wearing the lipsticks I see what she means. I find the wear of regular CT mattes fairly comfortable and long lasting, but not as revolutionary as some claim. Well moisturised lips are a must, as they can feel drying. The Hot Lips swatch smoother and creamier, leaving little stain on the skin.
It is a permanent lipstick that retails for $37.00 and contains 0.12 oz. Of course, I needed my namesake lipstick Tell Laura, but also because I admire the voice actress Laura Bailey. She's done numerous roles in my favorite video games, I was so happy she got recognised in the beauty world. After placing the order I realised there is another celebrity called Laura Bailey? Anyway, this shade is very beautiful, a perfect fire truck orange red with a hint of brick, not brown.
Givenchy Mandarine Bolero (304) (P, $36.00) is darker, cooler, glossier (90% similar). MAC Mandarin O (P, $22.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). ColourPop Come Up (P, $7.00) is lighter (85% similar).
Bite Beauty #066 (P, $18.00) is lighter (95% similar). Tom Ford Beauty To Die For (LE, $60.00) is darker (95% similar). Chanel La Favorite (43) (P, $45.00) is warmer (95% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Lost Cherry (P, $37.00) is lighter (90% similar). Tarte Top Down (P, $22.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Milani I Am Happy (P, $6.99) is brighter (95% similar).

Paul and Heather Oravitz, Kevin Sebunia, Mike Thomas and Casey and Keegan Clontz were killed in the explosion. The Plum Borough officials and the Allegheny County Office of the Medical Examiner identified them as Casey Clontz, 38; his son, Keegan Clontz, 12; Heather Oravitz, 51; Kevin Sebunia, 55; and Michael Thomas, 57. Four adults and one adolescent were also recovered from the debris, officials said. Officials set up a Disaster Distress Helpline, and the Red Cross and the Salvation Army were assisting affected residents, the Allegheny County government Facebook post said. After he recovered and checked on his son, Kolankowski went outside, where a woman told him that another woman had been upstairs and that a man was in the basement. The other woman emerged later covered in white ash, but the person in the basement hadn’t yet exited, he said.

This is not the first time a home has exploded in Plum Borough. People who live along Rustic Ridge Drive say that when the explosion happened, it was the loudest sound they've ever heard. "Police and other borough staff have had to respond to ask that individuals leave the area. We again reiterate – If you do not live in the area and do not have any reason to be there, please stay away from the area," the county said. Crews completed additional system testing with the Allegheny County fire marshal and Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission on Tuesday night, Peoples Gas said.

"We have all of our resources here, including BGE, who runs our gas for the county," said Francis. "We're going to make sure that everything is safe in the neighborhood. We don't know what caused this so that'll be looked into." Francis said both fire officials and BGE are investigating reports from neighbors about a possible odor hours before the explosion. "We can't confirm if he was in the home or outside of the home. We do know originally, we had no injuries and then someone presented themselves to first responders on scene with injuries," Bureau Chief Travis Francis told 11 News. "He was immediately treated by our EMS crews and transported to the hospital." One man we spoke with says he rushed home when he heard the news.

Baltimore County officials said firefighters were called to a two-alarm house fire and explosion on Crafton Road just after 11 p.m. “This is certainly a sad, sad day and a sad time, for not just the folks in Plum but all the folks in the community and in this region,” said Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald. Steve Imbarlina, assistant chief of Allegheny County Emergency Services, said two people have been released from the hospital, while one remains at the hospital in critical condition. Negrin says members of his department will be in Plum for the duration of the investigation and it may start to get a clearer picture of what happened soon. Negrin said the governor has ordered the results of all of the samples taken to be expedited, which means those results could be coming in as early as the end of this week. PLUM, Pa. In a news conference Sunday, Plum Chief of Police Lanny Conley said the Allegheny County medical examiner had determined four adults and one adolescent child died from the explosion. Five people have died and one person remains in critical condition after a house explosion on Rustic Ridge Drive in Plum. The DEP has been working with local authorities and first responders since the explosion that killed six people on Aug. 12. The state agency has had a handful of experts on the ground collecting samples to determine any possible sources of methane in the area.

Baltimore County Fire Department encourages anyone who smells gas or has any suspicion of it to call 911 immediately. Fire officials said investigators are working to determine who the man is in relation to the home. "You see this stuff, and when it's this close, you don't even know what to think. These are your neighbors ... you may not know them all, but this is a really tight community." The township, the fire marshal and Allegheny County emergency management were all present Sunday.
“The tank was located in the basement of the home,” county officials said. The Allegheny County Office of the Medical Examiner said Paul Oravitz, 56, died Wednesday at an area hospital, Plum Borough and Allegheny County officials said in a news release. There also was another explosion in 1996 where natural gas was determined to be the cause.
Video captured at the scene showed several homes on fire in the community of Rustic Ridge. During the initial response, 57 firefighters were treated on the scene for "minor issues" and all returned to duty that day, officials said. Officials were back at the scene Sunday morning, and a news conference was scheduled for noon, the Facebook post said.
"Right now, we just know someone was injured, had some burn injuries. We don't know how or if he was in the house or outside," Francis said. Neighbors told 11 News they saw a man walk out of the house, after it exploded. “Please give us some time to deal with this situation and give the families your respect and give them some space to deal with this tragedy,” Conley said. The Public Utilities Commission says it’s monitoring these integrity tests. The PUC added that they’re investigating if public utility infrastructure or operations contributed to the cause and circumstances surrounding the explosion. On August 12, 2023, pipeline safety engineers responded to the scene of a reported explosion and house fire at 141 Rustic Ridge Drive in Plum.
Moments before, as they made their way past the Epicentre and near the Spectrum Center, protesters chanted “When black lives are under attack, what do we do? By late Sunday, there were only a couple hundred peaceful protesters remaining. Moments later, there was another person under arrest in the back of this CMPD van. A crowd gathering around, some raising their voices at officers on bicycles. The demonstrations were in response to the death of an unarmed black man who died at the hands of a Minnesota police officer last week. Shortly after 3 p.m., police said protesters who remained in the area were pepper sprayed for blocking the street.

A spokesperson for the Portland Police Bureau acknowledged that police kettled people at a recent protest. “It is still a tactic that can be used under certain circumstances at the direction of the Incident Commander,” the spokesperson wrote. On March 31, officers responding to individuals in a crowd who were breaking windows “created a perimeter around the group” police said. Those caught within that kettle, police added, were told “they were being detained for investigation of crimes, they were not free to leave, and they should comply with officers’ lawful orders. The Charlotte incident is a particularly brutal example of a tactic police across the country have deployed for years against protesters — and at least a dozen times since last summer’s uprising alone.
Charlotte Shooting
But while police across the U.S. have kettled protesters frequently, there is little official acknowledgement of the tactic, let alone any nationally recognized standards about best practices for its use. A day after the protest, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Kerr Putney defended officers’ actions. “There is nothing to indicate whatsoever that there was intentional abuse on the part of our officers,” he said in a statement.

As the police approached the shooter, Chief Jennings told reporters, the officers were met with more gunfire from inside the home. After a long standoff, two women in the home were taken to a police station to be interviewed, the police later said in a statement. Now let us turn to take a look at how Charlotte does for violent crimes specifically, and then how it does for property crimes. This is important because the overall crime rate can be further illuminated by understanding if violent crime or property crimes (or both) are the major contributors to the general rate of crime in Charlotte.

“I understand you are upset but we have children out here we are not rioting or looting,” said one protest organizer. At 4 p.m., Gov. Roy Cooper said he is deploying 450 National Guardsman in response to the protests in multiple N.C. Officers arrived it tactical gear and attempted to disperse a hostile crowd. One of those groups was those who supported the government of the tiny African nation of Eritrea. The other consisted of those who claimed the president of that nation was a brutal dictator.
Because kettling is essentially a temporary movement of bodies that leaves behind no trace, it can be hard to prove that it happened after the fact. As a result, kettling has not been as widely condemned or legally challenged as compared to other police tactics — even as the use of the practice has proliferated. A third group of officers positioned on the second floor of a parking garage along the protest route started shooting pepper balls at the crowd. “Not only we were getting hit from both sides, we were getting hit from the top as well,” said McErlain.

Since Floyd’s May 25 death, protests have been carried out in cities across the country - some turning violent and destructive at times. Earlier, people gathered at Romare Bearden and held signs as Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers walked through the crowds and talked with the protesters. Speakers urged fellow protesters to remain peaceful and stay safe. At that time, police said that four arrests were made, including a person who was illegally possessing a gun.
Putney, who stepped down less than a month later, promised an independent investigation and the release of body camera footage to show police’s side of the story. This month, two police officers were killed outside a home near Syracuse, N.Y., during a shootout after they were following up on a traffic violation. “He fought for several hours and passed away from his injuries with his wife and family by his side tonight,” Chief Jennings said in a statement posted to social media on Monday evening. “I am truly grateful for his bravery, service and ultimate sacrifice,” he said. In all, four members of the task force were shot, three of whom died.
No arrests or injuries were reported in Charlotte Wednesday night as a result of the protests, according to CMPD. WCNC Charlotte reporter Briana Harper observed those peaceful protesters moving through the streets of uptown Charlotte shortly after 9 p.m. In 2019, a Mecklenburg County jury found Borum guilty of second-degree murder in the deadly shooting of Carr, who died when demonstrators took to the streets to protest the officer-involved killing of Keith Lamont Scott.
Attorney General Daniel Cameron's office said it did not investigate Kenneth Walker or Breonna Taylor, claims of civil negligence by the officers or the narcotics case against Jamarcus Glove or the search warrant obtained for Taylor's apartment. "Since then a civilian's vehicle has been damaged and several protester's have been throwing objects such as scooters, signs and cones," CMPD described on Twitter. A morning protest over an international issue evolved into a violent day-long standoff in southeast Charlotte on Saturday. Borum’s appeal of his sentence centers around the type of malice that supported the second-degree murder conviction. Tyler Wilson told CBS affiliate WBTV he was working at home when he heard officers calling for someone to come out of a neighboring house.
April Muniz mourns with the Charlottesville community the day after a Neo-Nazi plowed his car into a crowd of anti-racists, killing Heather Heyer and injuring dozens. Neo-Nazis, alt-right supporters and white supremacists encircle counter-protestors at the base of a statue of Thomas Jefferson after marching through the University of Virginia campus with torches in Charlottesville, Va., on Aug. 11, 2017. Fields' attack was called an act of domestic terrorism by the mayor of Charlottesville, Virginia's public safety secretary, the U.S. attorney general, and the director of the FBI.
Both were 14-year veterans of the department, North Carolina Secretary of Adult Correction Todd Ishee said in a statement. Just before 8 p.m., protesters marched down Tryon Street in uptown Charlotte holding signs and chanting “I can’t breathe” and “Black Lives Matter.” A wall of Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers barricaded Third Street to allow protesters to march through. Lawsuits involving kettling incidents were also filed after the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York and after kettling incidents in Portland and St. Louis. But those lawsuits mostly focused on a host of abuses that followed the kettling. Kettling is largely unregulated in police departments, and public officials, including mayors and police leaders, have offered wildly inconsistent explanations about when it may be appropriate, what it is, or whether it is even used at all. The police training on kettling that does exist includes little, if any, guidance on how to mitigate its harm, for example by allowing people a way out.

Lanny Conley, the chief of the Plum Borough Police Department, said at a news conference Sunday afternoon that four adults and one adolescent had died and been recovered from the scene. George Emanuele, who lives three houses down from the home that exploded, said he and a neighbor went to the home after the explosion and dragged a man laying in the backyard away from the scene, he told the Tribune-Review. “There are three structures destroyed and at least a dozen more damaged in some way,” authorities said. Police said at least three people were taken to area hospitals with two in stable condition, both of whom have since been released.

New details emerge in Pa. house explosion investigation: DEP
PLUM BOROUGH, Pa. — Six people are dead after an explosion on Rustic Ridge Drive in Plum Borough that destroyed three homes and damaged at least a dozen more. Baltimore County fire officials said they were called to the scene in the Essex community east of Baltimore just after 11 p.m. Fire officials say home explosions are not uncommon in the county, and if you smell gas, report it immediately. Crews were expected to be on the scene for "an extended period of time," the department said. Hazmat and fire investigators had been on their way to the scene, officials said. The house on Ridgemoor Road in Essex, Maryland, appeared in photos shared by the department to have been completely destroyed by the blast.

Safety Investigation Ongoing Following Deadly House Explosion in Plum Borough, Allegheny County
It is important to note that I&E investigations are limited – by regulation – to the involvement of, or impact from, utilities and utility systems under the jurisdiction of the PUC, along with natural gas transported by those assets. State investigators are now searching for stray gas near the site of a home explosion in Plum, Allegheny County on Saturday, Aug. 12 that killed six people. It is unclear what caused the explosion, and the investigation is expected to be "slow and long," officials said. A representative from the gas company said pressure and smell checks done in the area indicate that the "system was operating as designed" at the time of the explosion.
Officials have said one was found outside a garage, four were in the basement and the sixth was located and rescued from the rear yard. He was taken to a trauma center where he died several days later. That house and two others were so badly damaged they must be demolished, and 10 others were not safe for residents in the weeks after the Aug. 12 blast about 20 miles (32 kilometers) east of Pittsburgh. Baltimore Gas and Electric, hazardous materials and fire investigators were at the scene. Officials say they have heard from several neighbors that there was a foul smell in the area Saturday.
The fire marshal said it will continue to work with local officials on further remediation efforts to make the scene safe. Investigators inspected seven conventional oil and gas wells and two gathering pipelines after the explosion and ruled they were all in compliance. Those wells and pipelines were within a 2,500-foot radius of the home. Three homes were destroyed by the blast; 10 homes have been identified as possibly being structurally compromised.

Fifty-seven firefighters were treated on scene for minor issues, including heat-related injuries, Imbarlina said. The Safety Division appreciates the cooperation of Plum and Allegheny County, along with and various other local and state emergency agencies who have been part of the investigation, as well as residents and others impacted by this incident. Multiple houses were completely leveled with debris spilling onto the lawn. “I am in constant communication with Governor Shapiro, who has expressed his unwavering support for the Plum community and for the use of all available investigative measures. At the Governor’s request, an extensive amount of testing has been completed. Over the next few days additional testing will be conducted and shared with the public appropriately,” added Negrin.
On behalf of the entire school district, I want to express my deepest sympathies and offer support to our school community affected by this tragedy. Fifty-seven firefighters were treated for "minor issues" at the scene and released, Steve Imbarlina, assistant chief of fire/emergency medical services at Allegheny County Emergency Service, told reporters Sunday afternoon. Six people were killed, including a child, in a Pennsylvania house explosion over the weekend that caused multiple injuries, leveled two other homes and damaged at least a dozen residences, according to authorities.
Company technicians will be going door to door to conduct a safety check and relight customers’ appliances, the spokesperson said. Heather Oravitz, 51, community development director for the borough, lived in the house that exploded and was killed, the Plum Borough mayor confirms. Her husband, Paul Oravitz, was in the hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries, sources tell Channel 11. BALTIMORE - A house explosion rattled a community Saturday night in Essex.
The Safety Division recognizes the strong public interest in these types of incidents, especially for those who have been directly impacted, and works to address safety concerns in a timely matter. Still, it is important to understand that these are complex circumstances which may require extensive analyses by engineers and other experts, along with laboratory testing and other technical study before conclusions can be reached. “This is certainly a sad, sad day and a sad time, for not just the folks in Plum but all the folks in the community and in this region,” Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald said, AP reported. The Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating multiple possibilities, including the homeowners having “hot water tank issues,” Plum Borough and Allegheny County officials said in a news release. Two who were taken to the hospital in stable condition have since been released. The DEP evaluated the coal seam near Plum, Pa. and noted no nearby shafts or drill/boreholes in the area of the explosion, concluding the chance of the gas issue coming from an abandoned mine is very low.
Two of those individuals have been released from the hospital while one remains in critical condition. Paul Oravitz, 56, who had severe burns over most of his body, died Wednesday in a Pittsburgh hospital, four days after the explosion in Plum. According to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner, Paul Oravitz died Wednesday.

While the concept of cruise ship sinkings may evoke concern, it’s important to have a realistic perspective on the safety of the industry. It’s important to note that the cruise ship industry continuously evaluates and updates safety measures to address these contributing factors. Collaboration between cruise lines, regulatory bodies, and governing agencies plays a vital role in identifying potential risks and implementing necessary improvements. Cruise ship sinkings can be caused by a variety of factors, ranging from natural disasters to human error. Understanding these factors is crucial in preventing future incidents and improving safety protocols within the industry. Another design weakness is the possibility of a breach in the hull, either due to a collision with another vessel or hitting an underwater obstacle.

The ship suffered severe damage and capsized that night before partially sinking. The video news report below shows photos of the listing ship and passengers being rescued. Cruise Mishaps: How Normal Are They? - The New York Times
Generally, the modern safety features on cruise ships mean that very few lives are lost if ships ever sink. As the stricken ship lost power and listed dangerously near King George Island, the well-trained crew urgently evacuated all 154 passengers and crew into lifeboats. Thanks to an effective emergency response, not a single life was lost in the dramatic sinking in frigid Antarctic waters. The Titanic disaster profoundly impacted the maritime industry and sparked significant changes in how ships were designed and built. One major factor that contributed to the number of lives lost during the sinking was the lack of enough lifeboats on board.
Understanding Cruise Ship Safety Measures
While it’s important to be aware of safety precautions and emergency procedures, it’s equally important not to let misconceptions cloud our judgment.
